Kempton Park 5th November 2020

Kempton Park 5th November 2020

The third meeting of the week at the Park here’s my take on some runners that should go well, as usual my idea of a value price in brackets.

4.25  Class 6  Nursery Handicap  2 Yr  Old  6f

Laura Coughlan has had her claim reduced to 5lbs and is riding well at present, she rides Bomb Squad again after her win last time at Redcar however Bomb Squad has only run on the AW at Lingfield and not shown much there. The other winner is Jazzy Socks who won at Newcastle last time, but the selection is Imperial Dawn who ran well here last time in a handicap for the Coles.

Selection  Imperial Dawn (5/1) Next Best Jazzy Socks  (4/1)

16.55  Class 2 Handicap  3Yr Old +  6f

Four of these look worth closer examination Orgetorix a last time winner for R Beckett. Deputy drawn well for C Fellowes and showed promise last time, Oz Legend a H Palmer runner who does well here and Najeeba R Charlton who has a great record for first time runners.

Selection Deputy (6/1) Next Best:  Najeeba  (8/1)

17.30 Class 5 Fillies Novice Stakes 2 Yr Old  7f

Wirko is the obvious starting point and is likely to be short in the betting especially as the stable have an excellent record here. Two outsiders Buxted Too and Crestwood both have trainers with reasonable record for debutants but the selection is First Light who runs for J Gosden who is 18% for first time starters

Selection First Light  (5/2)  Next Best Wirko (Evens)

18.00 Class 5 Fillies Novice Stakes 2 Yr Old  7f

Another nursery and with 14 runners plenty of options, two have winning course form, Menai Bridge won here in good style and then disappointed at Nottingham.  Shady McGee is the other drops in grade today. Dark Motive is another of interest for in form R Beckett ran well on debut but was slow away next time, looks reasonably handicapped.

Selection Dark Motive (6/1) Next Best Menai Bridge (4/1)

18.30 Class 5 Handicap 3 Yr  Old +  1m

Just the nine runners here, three course winners, Lapidary, Stoneybark Creek and Biotic. However Commit No Nuisance ran well here last time first time in a handicap. Lapidary is also of interest but has only run the once over 8f and didn’t show a great deal but may be worth a second chance. There will be plenty of interest in War Leader who is lightly raced and showed good promise at Chelmsford having been previously trained by A O’Brian

Selection Commit No Nuisance  (7/1) Next Best War Leader   (3/1)

19.00 Class 5 Handicap 3 Yr  Old +  1m

Crimewave never got going last time at Lingfield but showed considerable promise here over this trip back in September, Jack Mitchell is back aboard too. Lady Eleanor is the other that has some interest and now going over a mile plus W Buick is riding.

Selection Crimewave (5/1) Next Best Lady Eleanor (4/1)

19.30 Class 5 Handicap  3 Yr Old +   7f

Likely market leaders Johnny Reb and American Entente look the most likely winners from a very ordinary field.  Last time winner Johnny Reb should go well again after leading all the way, drawn 1 today as well. The John Gosden runner runs in a handicap for the first time stable do well with these runners so make that the next best.

Selection Johnny Reb  (7/2) Next Best American Entente (9/2)

19.45 Class 5 Handicap 3 Yr Old+   6f

The last time Blazon ran at Kempton he won, however since then the form doesn’t read that well but with a 3/6 record here it is worth a look at decent odds. K Bailey is in good form and has a decent record at Kempton. Rydan is now 3lbs below his last winning mark and has also won at Kempton over this trip another that could go well. General Zoff was third here last time and SDS keeps the ride.

Selection Blazon (10/1)  Next Best Rydan  (12/1)

20.30 Class 4 Amateurs Rider Handicap 3 Yr Old +  1m 4f

Gas Monkey is a course winner over 8f but has won twice over this trip, its been a while since he has raced here Jan 19. Ran OK at Yarmouth over 14f time before that but ran no race last time at Yarmouth of Soft (has won on Soft). Also worth considering are Arabian King who put together a sequence at Southwell 4th here last time.  Sula Island ran well at 40/1 here last time. My Boy Sepoy is the other with Serena Brotherton aboard.

Selection Gas Monkey (8/1)  Next Best Sula Island (4/1)
