Kempton Park 15th September 2020

Really missing going racing, good to see the show being kept on the road. Tonight is not one of Kempton’s greatest cards but there is something for everyone here. If you are having an interest hopefully some of the below will assist you. Good luck !

15.55  Class 5 Maiden Fillies Stakes 2 Yr Old   7f

Plenty of unraced entries here with some of the top yards with decent Kempton records bringing some horses with potential. Those with form that look of interest are Joy Choi (decent speed rating at Sandown last time). Lovely Breeze who ran well at Salisbury (race working out ok) and should be much readier today, All in The Game another that showed promise on Chepstow debut and Florence Street who despite being 15 lengths off the winner recorded a decent TS and RPR. Of those unraced the trainers with good records currently, at the track and for debutants include Prothoe  (Charlton) along with Kingdom Found (Fanshawe).

Selection Florence Street (5/2) Next Best Lovely Breeze (7/2)

16.30 Class 6 Nursery Handicap 2 Yr Old  7f

Fourteen maidens go to post ! and few have been placed consequently it  looks a tricky puzzle to solve. Mia Mia and Spirit of Rowdon have been placed over this distance. A couple of trainers have decent FTH (first time handicap) records but their stables are not running well (Osborne and Scott) so will pass on these. Spirit of Rowdon ran OK and showed some form at Lingfield last time up 2lbs for that. The other that looks of interest despite a wide draw is Voodoo Whodoo who should run prominently (fancied on handicap debut) interesting that Thore Hammer Hansen who is 2/3 for the yard has the ride.

Selection Spirit Of Rowdon (3/1) Next Best: Voodoo Whodoo (16/1)

17.05  Class 6 Nursery Handicap 2 Yr Old  1m

We have a winner amongst these ! Devil’s Cub won a Bath nursery finishing a close up second at Chepstow next time.  Twentysharesofgrey ran behind the impressive Breckland here and made up a lot of ground to grab second, second again here on his last start. Luke Morris takes over from Hollie Doyle. The Crisfords do well with FTH and they run Thunderstone who has only had two runs (well beaten on both starts over 7f) similarly a good FTH record for Ed Dunlop who has Harrier Hawk and showed some potential on latest start at Chelmsford. M Appleby also gets his horses ready for handicap debuts (Swinton Noon)

Selection Thunderstone (5/2)  Next Best Twentysharesofgrey  (7/1)

17.40 Class 5 Auction Maiden 3-5 Yr  Old  1m

Winnetka drops back to maiden company after 6 runs in handicaps, has been placed here on two occasions (three runs here) has a mark of 72 and may well be good enough here. The danger is W Haggas’ Pretty Pickle who ran wide at Wolves and may not have liked the soft ground at Chepstow she has been a short price for all four of her runs and expected to be fav here. Haggas does well with runners coming off a short break (< 7 days). Two others to consider are from stables do well with horses off a break of >60 days.    Driving Force (BF on debut) (J Tate) and Witch Hunt (D Menusier).

Selection Winnetka (9/2) Next Best Driving Force  (4/1)

18.10 Class 5 Auction Maiden 3-5 Yr  Old  1m

Lover’s Moon has an RPR of 84 substantially more than anything else here, hard to see the two debutants being of that quality either. Trainer in good form over the last 14 and 30 days too. The danger could well be Habit Rouge from the M Botti yard he has S Cherchi who claims 5 in the saddle and they do well when combined (34%), he rides this track well 23% over the last year.

Selection Lover’s Moon (11/8) Next Best Habit Rouge (5/1)

18.40 Class 5  Handicap  3 Yr  Old +   1m 4f

Myseven makes her handicap debut tonight and should run well for the in form Crisfords, who do well here and have a great record debuting in handicaps. The handicapper has assessed Myseven on the basis of the second in the Lingfield race giving her a mark of 75. Brown Honey is the other that caught the eye having been placed here in October 2019, beaten favourite last time on soft going.

Selection Myseven (2/1) Next Best Brown Honey (4/1)

19.10 Class 6 Handicap 3 Yr  Old  1m 4f

Chris Wall is another who’s stable is in fine form and his runners often go off at respectable odds. He runs Flying Standard who won a Classified Stakes at Chelmsford last time and runs off 51 today on handicap debut 27% SR for FTH over the last year, he also does well with last time winners.  Ralph Becketts runner Calm Down looks reasonably well weighted after a couple of handicap runs. RB is not quite the force he was at Kempton with only a 9% SR over the last year (16% overall).

Selection Flying Standard (4/1) Next Best Calm Down (6/1)

19.40 Class 6 Handicap 3 Yr  Old +  7f

Deftera Lad ran on the 13th September and finished well after a slow start at Wolves over 7f. He comes out quickly with an inexperienced 7lb claimer aboard (0/7). Twice placed here (5 runs). Trainer goes well with fast returners (14%).  Limaro Prospect will be fancied to win again after a decent run here, trainer Sir M Prescott does well with last time out winners (40%)  and with fast returners 31%. Stable form for the last month is 6% against a usual 16%.

Selection Deftera Lad (10/1)  Next Best Limaro Prospect (5/2)

20.10 Class 6 Handicap 3 Yr  Old +  7f

Rochford won last time at Yarmouth has had one run when placed here, trainer does well with LTO winners (26%) Also of interest is Musee D’Orsay who is a CD winner although still 6lbs higher than when last winning here. Mr Shelby joins the C Banham yard one to keep an eye on in the betting.

Selection Rochford (7/2)  Next Best Musee D’Orsay (12/1)
